First UMC is offering several opportunities to worship this Advent and Christmas season. Our regular Sunday services throughout Advent will be based on Rachel Billups’ book An Unlikely Advent, and will focus weekly on these themes:

12/1 – Hope
12/8 – Grace
12/15 – Joy
12/22 – Revelation

In addition, on December 21st at 7pm we will have a Blue Christmas Service. Blue Christmas is a service of solemn prayer and contemplation, remembering that for some people this time of year is a time of grief and pain and regret. Blue Christmas reminds us that it’s ok to feel sadness, even during the Christmas Season.

At 5pm on Christmas Eve, we will have our Candlelight Christmas Eve service, remembering the great gift that was given to us so long ago.

On the Sunday following Christmas, the 29th, we will have a non-traditional service of scripture and music as we enjoy worship over breakfast in our fellowship hall.
