When Jesus rose out of the water during his baptism by John, the heavens opened up, and the voice of God told him that he, Jesus, was God’s beloved child, and that he gave God happiness. Sometimes it may not feel like it, but we are also God’s beloved children. And if we open ourselves to the way God speaks in our world, we’ll find God tells us that we, too, give God happiness.
